- Stress
Analysis
ranges from simple hand calculations to Finite Element
Analysis
- Hand
calculations are performed to established codes of
practice and procedures. Computer programs are used to
speed the process where appropriate. Our experience of
hand calculations includes rail and road vehicles,
aerospace and industrial plant.
- Fatigue
of welded joints can be carried out to BS7608 or for
components where an S/N curve is available.
- We are
accredited to BS EN ISO9002 for Stress Analysis and can
apply these procedures to any set of calculations we
perform.
- Calculations
can include check stressing as well as original
calculations which can be completed on your own
calculation sheet or proformas if you prefer.
- We can
also arrange testing of your components, vehicles other
complete structures. Analysis by Firth can specify,
arrange and also supervise all required testing
stages.
- Specialised
investigations we can perform include seat belts to ECE
Regulation 14 and Fire Engine Water Tank Mountings. We
also have a wealth of experience in analysing and
optimising ambulance bodies and their associated
components/equipment (including stretchers and carry
chairs), to CEN Regulations, which are now more onerous
than ever.
