- Analysis
by Firth offers training in all aspects of engineering
design and stress analysis. Rather than being presented
by lecturers with purely an academic background, our
courses are presented by Chartered Engineers with many
years of experience in industry.
- It is
our aim to provide a sound practical basis for the
techniques, rather than just a theoretical discussion of
the methods.
- We offer
a one day "Introduction to Finite Element Analysis
Techniques", suitable both for managers who require an
outline knowledge of the subject and as an introduction
to those starting out in its use. This course aims to
provide a sound engineering basis for the use of the
technique.
- "Basic
Stress Analysis Techniques - An Introduction" covers the
basic techniques for stress analysis, with emphasis on
its application to bolted joints, section properties and
when to use finite element analysis etc. Clearly it is
not possible to cover everything on a one day course, but
the aim is to provide a firm foundation for further
training if required.
- "An
Introduction to Fastening Techniques" covers the design
of bolted, welded and bonded joints. It covers the
advantages as well as the pitfalls of using each type of
joint. The emphasis, as with all our courses is towards
practical uses of the various types of
fastener.
- Longer
courses, or courses more tailored to your requirements
are also possible.
- All
courses include a full set of notes, refreshments and an
attendance certificate.
